Depart from Accra up the Akwapim mountain road to Mampong, Akwapim, to visit the Mampong Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine. This centre was established to enable scientific research into local herbs and to help the traditional doctors administer these herbs to their patients in a more scientific and systematic way. Continue to Aburi Gardens and take a tour of the Gardens, established by the British colonial administration for research into plants and as a convalescent home. Learn about the cultural and medicinal importance of the trees. Finally visit the wood carver’s market and then proceed to Accra.
